A House for a Couple

Once upon a time, there stood a lonesome snow-capped cabin deep within the bare depths of the bitterly cold forest, isolated from the rest of the world. The cabin sat untouched for many centuries, unknown to the world outside of the forest...until a sprightly businesswoman had come across the house while surveying the land. When she approached the building, a slight breeze spread across her entire body, covering every crevice and burrowing itself deep into the very marrow of her bones. She ignored this unusual sensation and continued deeper into the pitch-black abyss of the house. Once she was fully immersed within the ancient structure, the sickly sweet scent of burning wood began to fill her nostrils. The scent got stronger and stronger the deeper she got into the house until all she could smell was that scent. The woman began to look around in a haste to find the source of this scent, yet all that she could perceive was the empty abyss that blanketed her. Once she realized what surrounded her, she began to frantically run through the house, desperately trying to find a wall or any other physical sign of the house existing, but nothing could be found. The woman collapsed and began to wail for anyone to save her. The previous scent that once permeated the air of the non-existent cabin was now replaced with a rancid scent and the air grew bitterly cold. The young woman stood still within the pitch-black abyss for what seemed like an eternity until a figure began to inch towards her in a sluggish manner. She attempted to will her body to run, yet the woman's body had already succumbed to the biting atmosphere around her and was incapable of lifting herself up. The figure that had once been hobbling towards her was now directly parallel to her head. The being then raised his foot then slammed it down with a thunderous boom.
